All for the ONE and The ONE for us all . . . To know Christ and to make Him known
Church Life
Autumn 2010 Homegroups - Download Sep-Dec Teaching Program

The new homegroups will commence during w/c 6th September, check with the leadership or in church on the notice board as to which group you are allocated too. Contact the cell group leader to find out which day of the week and time your group is meeting on a week by week basis
We are entering a new season of church life and I really sense a call for cell groups that are locally and functionally focussed for this September to December season. Cell groups form an essential part of our family life together, and the mission of the church.
The local focus element of each cell is to pray for the immediate neighbourhood to where the cell meets, and for maybe 10-15 minutes (if you are fit and able) to prayer walk the area. Please keep watch for properties that are changing hands, keep a notepad of For Sale, Sold/Let signs that appear and be proactive as a group in welcoming the new occupiers with a cake and an information pack about the church. You may want to encourage your group to monitor different streets in the immediate vicinity and keep you informed of changes in occupancy.
The functional focus of the groups are slightly different.

  1. Carbis Bay group consists of people which has a number of members involved in social action eg food parcels, homeless project etc. This is a key and developing mission of the church. Whilst we currently have limited resources there are things we can and do do. Please consider and pray about what opportunities we should and could look at now and in the future and feed back to the elders.
  2. The St Ives group has a number of faithful prayers amongst them and part of your focus is to strengthen the prayer ministry of the church, keep us informed of prayer needs and answers, and seek the Lord for the spread of the gospel and increased manifestation of signs and wonders as we minister as a body of believers.
  3. The Castlegate, Ludgvan and perimeter village group will focus on community engagement, exploring what Jesus would have us do as a fellowship to engage with our communities, pub quiz participation, car boot sales, fets/fares etc.
  4. The Alpha/Marriage Course Group will focus on evangelism and relationship development, looking longer term in sharing this work with Fore Street and possibly others.
  5. The Younger Generation Church (The Nooma Group) will focus on discipleship of young people, continuing to use the Nooma materials and the Leisure centre as a venue for cross a denomination youth culture teaching style.
  6. The Mens Cell Group will meet one Monday in Three focussing on men’s issues but using the Restoring the Foundations structure to bring about changes in our approach to life.

The information packs for new home occupiers, or contacts who show a keen interest in visiting us will be kept by the cell group hosts in their home and used when the group has identified a new home owner. They are expensive to produce so we need to be strategic and prayerful in giving them out.
These groups should continue to maintain a passion for bible study, prayer, using the gifts of the Spirit, and building healthy challenging relationships. To this end I have prepared the attached list of members for your cell. Some on the list may not be used to cell groups and may not attend but please encourage them, invite them and maintain contact even when they do not come. If people express a need to belong to part of a different cell please ask them to speak to me first, nothing is set in stone.
You will note from the provisional teaching program that I suggest the cells take communion together this will be in addition to when we share the Lords Table in church services.
I have also provisionally booked Chy an Gweal for the last Thursday in each month of September, October and November. Please discuss with your group and the other cells leaders whether on those occasions or on the odd occasion you would like to take the opportunity of having the bigger venue and have a joint cell group/social evening.
Please note I have not restricted the cells to members only, but they are predominantly for regular attenders. However, I would encourage you to think about holding an open evening say once a month where the focus is social and befriending your unsaved neighbours, family etc.
