We are a church that is seriously committed to Prayer to see the touch of God
in our lives, our locality and our Nation. We know that Prayer changes
things and having a living faith means that we know that God wants us
to speak and listen to Him (pray).
The pastor was away from the 7th-11th July In Italy at the G8 Summit with
a group of intercessors. Thank you for joining with him in prayer at this

Overview of Global Scene.
Inevitable products of Globalisation.
One ongoing result in the modern globalisation process since the beginning
of the 20th century is a mixing of diverse cultures, ideas, beliefs and
political systems. Resulting interdependence between nations and international
systems of trade, finance and education along with the faster means to
communicate and travel across the globe have made the world a far more
complicated place to understand.
The factors shaping the global community are therefore vast in number.
These extend to the actions of a few unknown men who though a single event
such as 9/11 can trigger regional war and a global security operation
at the cost of vast sums of money and loss of life to high level leaders
summits that shape the future for all nations.
Any corporate system that goes through such a vast and high paced change
will only survive if certain anchor points remain the priority of the
majority of participants. Not only would these anchor points need to be
understood but more than that, believed by the majority to be kept through
the storms of change. Without that understanding and adherence the ship
will likely sink under the battering of the storms of change.
So how is the world doing?
This is not easy to grasp since the ?mixing up? has made the world a
far more complex system to understand. Yet through it all and without
going into facts and figures I would suggest the following.
Since particularly the beginning of the 20th century the world system
has gone through periods of coming together and falling apart or in current
terminology globalisation and fragmentation. Globalisation and the need
for increased central regulation have been received as a threat to independence
and freedom by peoples and nations. The product of this has been conflict
on a scale that has led to global fragmentation. The consequences of that
fragmentation have often been so devastating that the cry for increased
regulation to prevent a repeat of disasters becomes louder than the cry
for freedom and independence. All of this resulting in a further and deeper
moves toward globalisation. This in turn re-ignites factors that re-introduce
fragmentation and so on and so on. Even though the interdependence factor
through globalisation has the effect of sustaining peace since conflict
will result in a break of essential trade movements, it is no guarantee
of peace since national pride and the empire spirit are often far stronger
motivators than economic well being.
My assessment is that we are currently in a deepening time of fragmentation
the beginning of which dates back to a single event of a few unknown dedicated
young men who were willing to give their lives for what they believed
? now known a 9/11.
The aftermath of 9/11 resulted in growing political divisions across
the world which pushed forward the move from a uni-polar global political
system to a multi-polar global political system. Then in the last 2 years
a global economic crisis has emerged the seeds of which go back several
years previous. At the same time greater awareness of the global ecological
/ environmental crisis facing all nations has become increasingly accepted.
On top of all of this nuclear weapons in the hands of heads of state who
are in some cases quite mad and who may be willing to pass their technology
to terrorist groups to do their bidding, is adding to the cocktail of
looming disasters for the global community to contemplate.
With all of this the global political system currently in place is out
of date and unbalanced in its composition that it lacks self confidence
and credibility.
From a purely geo-political viewpoint massive change in the system is
required. For this to happen strong courageous leadership needs to emerge
to bring the globe and the global community of nations into togetherness
under common beliefs and values that will act as anchor points through
the storms blowing within the earths geo-political and ecological systems.
Without firm, clear and globally accepted leadership uncertainly, confusion,
and fear will prevail across the earth.
The G8.
The G8 although geo-politically pass its sell by date is still the biggest
show in town and therefore not be ignored.
It is no longer representative of global geo-political reality. Even
though new global economies are invited they are still kept out of the
core. This just adds to the credibility gap of the G8 as the most powerful
Heads of State grouping. For example Canada has a population of 31 million
and Gross Domestic Product of £820 Billion. China on the other hand
not in the core of the G8 has a population of 1.3 Billion and a Gross
Domestic Product of £1650 Billion. (2005 figures)
As a response to this a group referred to as the BRIC countries (Brazil,
Russia, India, China) / in close relationship with the Shanghia Cooperation
Organisation (SCO) (China, Russia, Several ex Soviet Republics, at the
core with Iran, India and other nations from Asia and South America in
attendance are holding regular summits and making agreements among themselves,
and behind the scenes setting themselves up as a separate grouping to
challenge the Western global political dominance. China and Russia who
are at the core of the BRIC countries and the SCO have over the last few
years been hard at work increasing their influence among resource rich
under developed nations in Africa and also with developing nations in
Asia and South America. This was the same tactic employed by Europe and
the US in the building of their historic empires.
Options for the G8
The optional question for the 8 G8 nations is to keep things as they
are and decline in significance (which has already happened) or to incorporate
these other nations and render the creation of another power centre as
unnecessary. This group meets mainly in Asia and therefore does not tend
to get much mainline media attention in the West and therefore relatively
unknown.
The G8 is also suffering from internal troubles. There is a growing difficulty
for European and the US to accept / retain Russia in its membership. This
is due to the growing authoritarian policies of the Russian governmental
system. (Having made that point authoritarian policies have been increasing
in both Europe and the US). Also the credibility of individual heads of
state that currently make up the G8 just weakens its credibility ? Berlusconi
is the chair of the G8 for this year yet is just as corrupt and tainted
as anything he could say about Russian Heads of State.
So what?s on the 2009 Agenda?
There is a list of normal topics that will get some sort of airing each
summit. Most of these issues will only receive a very limited focus.
This year?s topics.
Global economy ? this is the priority since for the G8 nations ?money
makes the world go around?. Also a number of the G8 including Gordon Brown
and Chancellor Merkel are very aware that if they do not come up with
good and pleasing solutions to the global economic crisis then they will
lose their jobs at their respective national elections coming up.
Planetary Issues ? this has become a regular under the title of ?global
warming and its consequences. This year associated with this topic they
are also looking at the flow and availability of water which in the end
is more vital than oil and increasingly becoming a crisis issue for many
nations with the prospect of war in several parts of the world. Food security
is also a big issue. For the first time in preparation for this summit
the Agricultural ministers of the G8 nations meet to give this consideration.
Particular security concerns ? for the G8 these remain the Middle East
and Iran?s new standing in this equation, North Korea that could implode
and produce a massive refugee problem for South Korea and China. Also
the nuclear potential of North Korea and its recent demonstration that
it has developed delivery systems for its new nuclear weaponry. Af-Pac
a term used to describe the Afghanistan/Pakistan war against the Taliban
and Al Qaida is of particular concern. They realise that they have to
uphold the western focus of Pakistan at all costs due to its nuclear weaponry
and very capable delivery systems. Numerous other issues have been discussed
in preparation yet Economics, Security, Energy issues, Terrorism, Middle
East the plight of Africa tend to remain a constant focus.
Overall ? the general situation is that the issues confronting the planet
and the life of nations is far larger than any global decision making
policy group that has been established ? the consequence will therefore
likely continue to be conflict at differing levels across the globe with
disasters in the wake of these. The alternative is a radical centralisation
of power agreed upon by dominant nations and regional groupings of nations.
However, the global crisis level is not yet deep enough for nations to
sacrifice their sovereignty to a central global power that can not only
make global policy but have the power and resources to enforce them.
Looking at All this from a broad Spiritual viewpoint.
My understanding of global political developments surrounds the events
of Gen 11. The primary goal of the enemy is to bring global political
control over the peoples / nations of the world. This is what he lost
in Gen 11 and has to recover in order to resist the return of the Lord.
So just as the reaching the nations are central to the Lord?s goal in
the great commission the nations are also central to the enemy?s goal
of global political control. This has been displayed particularly in the
last 110 years. During this time the advance of the great commission has
been at its fastest pace. Likewise the development of global political
organisations has also developed at its greatest pace. The race for global
political control and the finishing of the great commission are in direct
opposition to one another. At the same time we need to realise that God
uses unbelieving leaders and nations and alliances to bring both blessings
and judgement to other nations. Also leaders being made in the image of
God can and do act naturally out of the Godly characteristics of mercy,
justice, compassion as these are characteristics of the image of the one
they are made in. A careful listening and testing therefore needs to be
operate in order to understand prayer focus regarding global leadership
summits.
When the great commission is fulfilled then ?the end will come?. This
point has to be held in clear view as we consider the developments in
global political regulation and control. The Lords commission to his disciples
is the ?great commission?. The enemy?s commission to his disciples is
to form global political control. The description of Babylon in Revelation
clearly portrays this.
Watching alliances.
Watching alliances of nations is also vital. A clear current one is mentioned
below.
Geo-political alliances that reflect end time passages in Ezekiel.
In chapters 38-40 an alliance is formed that storms into the Middle East
heading for Israel ? according this passage this heralds the opening of
the last years of this age. A list of these nations and current developments
in geo-political alliance is significant to look at.
Nations that make up this alliance.
Persia ? Iran / Libya ? Libya / Ethiopia ? refers to the current northern
territory of Ethiopia sometimes referred to as Cush ? i.e. modern day
Sudan / and Gomer, Gog of the land of Magog, and Togarmah ? generally
believed to be Russia and the the ?stans? of central Asia.
There are differences of viewpoint among scholars as to the modern day
designation of particularly Gog / Magog but they are generally among all
put into the Central Asia region which includes Russian territory of today.
So if we were to take these designations then we have the following modern
nations in alliance.
Russia / Iran / Libya / Sudan / Turkey / the ?stan?s of central Asia.
These nations are currently in good relationship but at odds with the
West. Russia is certainly making clear moves to engage with the Middle
East and more currently is building and protecting the Iranian nuclear
programme.
Turkey is a bridge nation ? i.e. it bridges Asia, the Middle East and
Europe. It is currently toying with its options in terms of alliance.
It is becoming impatience at Europe?s reticence for it to join the EU
and the US?s policies in the Middle East. Both Russian and Turkey could
benefit from closer relationships and heads of state reciprocal visits
are under way.
So what am I saying? This growing alliance is more closely reflecting
what is written in Ezekiel and therefore needs watching.
Prayer and changes in the G8.
Apart from Brian Harper of Canada no other member of the list of Heads
of State at the core or other nations is a believer. If they decide to
increase the members of the G8 and bring in China and India then the mix
of world views and spiritual influence upon this group will significantly
shift. China will bring in Confucianism and another authoritarian element
and India will bring in a strong Hindu and multi- God belief system. In
short an increased mixture of demonic influence. This possibility would
neither be surprising or unpredictable. These sorts of developments will
only carry on as the enemy works out a return to what he lost in Gen 11.
Apart from specific direction from the Lord regarding prayer into global
political summits a clear goal is to bring restraint on the enemy?s global
building plans and policy making that is directly or indirectly intended
to restrict the advance of the great commission. For this to happen access
into the global governmental spiritual realm is vital for effectiveness.
G8 PRAYER DIRECTIVES
G8 Summit 2009, L’Aquila Italy. July 8-10
With the G8 Summit starting soon, we need to prepare our hearts in worship
& intercession for these days together. These are truly significant
days on the world scene and as never before need to see the intercessions
and high praises of our God released that will change destinies of nations.
We desire to see the purposes of the Father accomplished on earth as in
heaven. It is about seeing the government of God and the Kingdom of God
manifested on earth in such a way as to see a restraining of evil and
a release of grace for the advancing of the Gospel message throughout
the nations of the world.
This is a declaration used in the past to bring us into a Global setting.
Meditate and pray through it as part of our heart preparation.

DECLARATION FOR ENTERING THE GLOBAL ARENA
*****************************************
We make declaration into the heavenly realms that according to Psalm
22 'All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and
all the families of the nations shall worship before Him. For the kingdom
is the Lord's and He rules over the nations.
We therefore declare into the heavenly realms according to Psalm 67 'Let
the peoples praise you O God; Let all the peoples praise You O God. Oh
let the nations be glad and sing for joy. For you shall judge the people
righteously and govern the nations on earth.
We declare according to Psalm 47 that 'the Lord most high is awesome;
He is the great King over all the earth - - - God reigns over the nations.
God sits on His holy throne. The princes of the people have gathered together.
The people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong
to God. He is greatly exalted.
According to Colossians 1 We speak into the heavenly realms and declare
his pre-eminence over all things. We declare that all things were created
that are in heaven and earth, visible and invisible whether thrones or
dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through
Him and for Him. And He is before all things and in Him all things consist.
We therefore speak out and say according to Psalm 2 ' Be wise O Heads
of State, be instructed your judges of the earth. Serve the purposes of
God with fear and rejoice with trembling. Give honor to the Son lest He
be angry and you perish in the way.
We also make declaration to the forces of darkness that through the blood
of Jesus we are justified and sanctified. We declare that through the
blood of Jesus we are seated with Christ in the heavenly realms far above
demonic rule and authority and we declare that through the victory of
the cross you are defeated and we forbid your interference over our lives
and the lives of our family members and from all that we have and are.
For we declare according to Revelation 1v5 that Jesus Christ is the governor
of governors, the ruler of rulers and the King of Kings. He is pre-eminent
over all. Praise the name of the Lord.

Pray for God to raise up those like King Cyrus (Isaiah 45) to accomplish
the purposes of God on the earth.

deceive the leaders of the G8 to be bound and silenced in the name of
the Lord Jesus Christ.
Pray for the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord to rule and reign in the affairs
of man executing justice, righteousness and truth.
